Karachi Port's and Port Qasim's activities

KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 124,267 tonnes of cargo comprising 101,120 tonnes of import cargo and 23,147 tonnes of export cargo including nil loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 101,120 tonnes comprised of 47,075 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,865 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,305 tonnes of DAP; 10,500 tonnes of coal and 39,180 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 23,147 tonnes comprised of 22,645 tonnes of containerised cargo and 502 tonnes of cement.

Five ships namely APL Guangzhou, Wan Hai-603, Nemias-4, Yaran and Dong Airis with four container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

Four vessels viz Wan Hai-605, LEO Perdana, Hyundai General and Sri Prem Aparma with three container ships and one coal carrier respectively are currently at the berths.

Three ships namely Jolly, Wan Hai-605 and MT Karachi with two container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely LEO Perdana and Hyundai General carrying two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.

Three vessels viz CSAV Lanalhue, Daedalus Leader and MT Quetta with one container ship, one cars carrier and one crude oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz Hammonia Thracium, Asian Trader, Hawk, UBC Cyprus and Arundel Castle two container ships, one DAP carrier, one cement carrier and one talcum powder ship respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

KARACHI: A cargo volume of 42,313 tonnes, comprising 27,759 tonnes of import cargo and 14,554 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,977 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 27,759 tonnes includes 2,507 tonnes of LPG; 200 tonnes of palm oil; 2,043 tonnes of chemicals and 23,009 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo includes 14,554 tonnes of containerised cargo.

A total number of 1,977 containers comprising 1,211 containers import and 766 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

Two ships namely carrying containers and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Harsanadi with chemicals is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of three vessels viz CV Maersk Utha, MT Gas Elixir and MT Harsanadi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, LPG and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.

As many as two ships Nedlloyd Mercator and FPMC Fortune with containers and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

A total number of three vessels viz CV Asian Trader, CV MSC Jade and MT FPMC Fortune carrying containers and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.

Four ships namely CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV Hanjin Malta and MT Al-Khalidiah with containers and diesel oil due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more container ships namely CV CMA CGM Strauss and MT Al-Salam-II carrying containers and furnace oil are due to arrive on Wednesday.
